This U.S. Consumer Privacy Notice ("Privacy Notice") describes how PolicyQuail LLC ("PolicyQuail LLC", "we", "our" or "us") handles your personal information when you:

• Visit our websites, including PolicyQuail.com (our "Sites").
• Use our services ("Services").
• Contact us or otherwise provide us with personal information.

The Sites and Services are collectively referred to as the "Platform".

PolicyQuail.com is owned and operated by PolicyQuail LLC.

IF YOU ARE A CALIFORNIA RESIDENT: If you are a resident of California, this entire Privacy Notice applies to you. Please also see the section titled "Additional Information for California Residents" below, which describes our information collection practices and your specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

This Privacy Notice applies to our information practices in connection with seeking, applying for, or obtaining a financial product or service for personal, family, or household purposes pursuant to the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA). Auto insurance is such a product.

Your access to and use of our Services are subject to our Terms of Use. By using our Platform, you accept those terms and the privacy practices described here.

What we are

PolicyQuail is a comparison and referral service. We are not an insurance company, agency, or broker. We do not sell insurance, bind coverage, or provide insurance advice. We connect consumers with licensed insurance companies and agents, and we are compensated by those partners.

Changes to this Privacy Notice

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Notice on the Site, and for a reasonable period we will post notice of the change so that it is visible to visitors. By your continued use of the Platform, you will be deemed to consent to the revised Privacy Notice.

Definitions

• Personal Information: Information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or device.
• Services: The offerings available through our websites and interactions, including auto insurance rate comparison and related referral services.
• Platform: Our websites, online services, and applications.
• GLBA Information: Personal information collected from you in connection with seeking, applying for, or obtaining a financial product or service for personal, family, or household purposes.
• Non-GLBA Information: Personal information collected when you visit our websites but not in connection with seeking a financial product or service, including information collected for business or commercial purposes.

Scope

Our Services are intended for use by residents of the United States. They are not intended to subject PolicyQuail LLC to the laws or jurisdiction of any state, country, or territory other than those of the United States. This Privacy Notice applies to both GLBA and non-GLBA information, with distinctions noted in each section.

What personal information do we collect?

As used in this Notice, "personal information" means any information about an individual from which that person may be identified. It includes obvious things such as your name, telephone number, email address, and street address, and less obvious things such as your IP address, device identifier, and general location. It does not include information from which identity has been definitively removed.

We collect personal information directly from you when you provide it, indirectly through automated technologies such as cookies, and in some cases from affiliate partners to whom you provided your information directly.

General inquiries (Non-GLBA)

You can generally visit the Platform without submitting personal information. If you contact us by email or telephone, we will collect your name, email address, and any other information you choose to submit. This is non-GLBA information.

Auto insurance rate comparison (GLBA)

If you request auto insurance rate comparisons through PolicyQuail.com, we may request the following:

• Full name
• ZIP code
• Age
• Marital status
• Whether you own or rent your home
• Vehicle year, make, and model
• Current insurance status
• Accident and violation history within the last three years
• Email address
• Phone number

Should you choose to speak with a licensed insurance agent after your initial online inquiry, that agent may request additional information by phone in order to prepare a quote, which may include your date of birth, driver's licence number, vehicle identification number, or prior insurance details. This information is considered GLBA information.

We do not collect health information, medical history, or Medicare Beneficiary Identifiers through this Platform, and we do not act as a HIPAA Business Associate.

Automatically collected information (both GLBA and Non-GLBA)

When you visit our Sites, we or our authorized service providers automatically collect information about the device you use and your interactions with the Platform. This includes browser type, IP address, language, operating system, the state or country from which you accessed the Platform, unique device and click identifiers, the pages you view, time spent on pages, the date and time of your visit, referring and exit pages, error logs, and other hardware and software information.

Location information (both GLBA and Non-GLBA)

We or our service providers collect broad geographic location, such as city or state derived from IP address, in order to determine which insurance products are available in your area and to guide marketing strategy. Check your browser or device settings to disable location services if you do not wish to share precise location information.

Third parties (both GLBA and Non-GLBA)

We may collect personal information from third parties, such as service providers and marketing partners, in connection with and in order to facilitate your request.

Payments

We do not collect payment information. PolicyQuail does not charge consumers and does not process transactions. Any payment for an insurance policy is made directly to the carrier or agency you choose.

Cookies and similar technologies

The Site uses cookies and similar tools such as web beacons and pixels. Cookies are small files stored on your device through which personal information may be collected. We use them to keep information you enter across multiple pages together, to measure user behaviour, and to enable personalized advertising.

Some cookies are first-party and others are placed by authorized third parties such as advertising partners. Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but you may set your browser to block them. Blocking cookies may interfere with certain functionality on the Site.

We use session cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser, and persistent cookies, which remain until deleted and are used for analytics, performance, and advertising.

Your choices

You can change your browser settings to prevent cookies or to notify you each time one is set. You can learn more at www.allaboutcookies.org. For California residents, please also see the "Right to opt out of sale or sharing" section below.

Analytics

The Sites may use analytics services that place cookies to collect and store information about your device and use of the Sites, in order to calculate visitor, session, and campaign data. Where Google Analytics is used, you can read Google's privacy policy and install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to opt out.

How we use your information

To provide services to you (GLBA)

We use GLBA information to match you with licensed insurance companies and agents, to present estimated rates, to facilitate your request to be contacted, and to provide customer service.

To communicate with you (both GLBA and Non-GLBA)

We may use your information to connect you with licensed agents who can walk you through your options, to respond to your enquiries, and to maintain a normal business relationship. Where you have provided express written consent, our marketing partners may contact you by phone, text message, and email as described in that consent and on our Marketing Partners page.

To improve our services (both GLBA and Non-GLBA)

We may use the information we collect, including telemetry, to address software defects, conduct internal research, and perform data analysis and modelling in order to improve the Platform and the quality of the matches we make.

To detect fraud (both GLBA and Non-GLBA)

We may use the information we collect to detect, investigate, prevent, or act on incidents, threats, and misuse of our systems, including suspected fraud, bot traffic, and violations of our policies, and to verify your identity.

We use Cloudflare Turnstile on the quote form to help distinguish people from automated traffic. That check runs in the background and is subject to Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

For legal reasons (both GLBA and Non-GLBA)

We operate in a regulated industry and reserve the right to access, use, preserve, transfer, or disclose information as reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law; to respond to complaints, legal actions, or governmental requests; to enforce our Terms of Use; to establish or defend legal claims, including demonstrating that consent to be contacted was given; or to protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property.

As part of a corporate change (both GLBA and Non-GLBA)

We may use information about you as part of, or in preparation for, a change of control, restructuring, corporate change, or sale or transfer of assets.

For business and commercial purposes (Non-GLBA)

• To personalize your experience with our Sites.
• To market or advertise our Services, including targeted advertising based on your browsing history, demographic information, and interactions on the Platform and through third-party advertising platforms.
• To create inferences and profiles in order to better understand consumer preferences.
• To conduct internal research, reporting, and data analysis.

Data sharing

With insurance carriers and agencies (GLBA)

We share your GLBA information with the licensed insurance carriers, agencies, and agents named on our Marketing Partners page in order to provide the comparison and referral service you requested. We share it at your direction, on the basis of the consent you provide when you submit the form.

With third-party service providers (both GLBA and Non-GLBA)

We may share your information with service providers acting on our behalf, including technology and infrastructure providers such as website hosting and data storage, communication tools, consent verification providers, analytics providers, and legal and compliance service providers. These providers are contractually bound to protect your information and to use it only for the services we engage them to perform.

With marketing partners (Non-GLBA)

We may work with third-party marketing partners to advertise our Services. In connection with these activities, information such as your browsing history, general demographic information, and interaction events may be shared with those partners through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies, including click identifiers that allow those platforms to recognize your device or browser for measuring advertising effectiveness and delivering targeted advertising elsewhere.

For California residents, this may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising, and you have the right to opt out.

For legal reasons (both GLBA and Non-GLBA)

We may transfer or disclose information about you to third parties where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary or appropriate to comply with law or valid legal process; to produce documents in connection with litigation, arbitration, or investigations; to protect the interests, rights, safety, or property of PolicyQuail LLC or others; or to enforce our rights or contractual obligations.

We may transfer your personal information to a successor entity in preparation for or upon a merger, consolidation, or other corporate reorganization, or to a purchaser of all or substantially all of our business or assets.

We may use and share de-identified and aggregated data with third parties without limitation.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties in exchange for monetary consideration. For information on "sharing" for advertising purposes under California law, see "Additional Information for California Residents".

Do Not Track signals

We do not currently respond to legacy "Do Not Track" browser signals because no uniform technological standard has been established. For California residents, we process Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a valid request to opt out of the sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, including satisfying legal, accounting, and reporting requirements, establishing or defending legal claims, and preventing fraud. In determining the appropriate retention period we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the information, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure, the purposes for which we process it, and applicable legal requirements.

In practice, we retain the information you submit through a quote request — including your contact details and the record of the consent you provided (the disclosure text shown to you, the date and time, the page address, your IP address, and your browser user agent) — for approximately five years. We keep it for that period in order to establish or defend legal claims, including demonstrating that consent to be contacted was given; to detect, investigate, and prevent fraud; and to reconcile records with the insurance partners to whom your request was directed.

Following that period, information is deleted or reduced to a de-identified form. You may request deletion sooner as described below, subject to the exceptions noted in this Notice.

Security

We have implemented commercially reasonable physical, administrative, technical, and electronic security measures designed to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of your personal information, and to meet applicable legal and contractual obligations, including those under GLBA. These include encrypted data storage and transmission, access controls and authentication, security assessments, and incident response procedures.

No security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and we do not promise that your information will remain secure. In the event of a security breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required under applicable law. If you suspect a breach, please contact us immediately using the details below.

Children's information

Our Platform is not directed toward persons under eighteen years of age. We do not knowingly market to or collect personal information from anyone under eighteen. If you are under eighteen, you are not permitted to submit personal information to us. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we hold information about your minor child, please contact us at privacy@policyquail.com and we will remove it.

International transfers

We are located in the United States and the personal information we collect is stored on servers located in the United States. Your personal information will be collected, processed, and stored in the United States, which may have data protection laws different from those of your country or region. By sending us personal information, you consent to that processing.

Additional Information for California Residents

This section supplements the Privacy Notice and applies solely to visitors and users who reside in the State of California ("Consumers"). We have created it to comply with the CCPA as amended by the CPRA.

Information not covered by this California Notice

• Personal information about employees, contractors, or job applicants.
• Personal information collected under GLBA.
• Other types of personal information specifically exempt from California law.

Categories of personal information we collect and disclose

Within the last twelve months, PolicyQuail LLC has collected the following categories of non-GLBA personal information. We may also "share" certain categories for cross-context behavioral advertising as described.

Identifiers. Examples: real name, postal address, email address, IP address, online identifiers such as cookie and click IDs. Disclosed to: service providers acting on our behalf, corporate change third parties, legal third parties. Disclosed at your direction to: licensed insurance partners. Shared for cross-context behavioral advertising with: third-party advertising platforms.

Personal information categories listed in Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.80(e). Examples: name, contact information, insurance policy information. Disclosed to: service providers, corporate change third parties, legal third parties. Disclosed at your direction to: licensed insurance partners.

Protected classification characteristics. Examples: age, marital status. Disclosed to: service providers, corporate change third parties, legal third parties. Disclosed at your direction to: licensed insurance partners.

Commercial information. Examples: products or services considered. Disclosed to: service providers, corporate change third parties, legal third parties. Shared for cross-context behavioral advertising with: third-party advertising platforms.

Internet or other electronic network activity information. Examples: browsing history, interaction with the website, advertisements, and emails. Disclosed to: service providers, corporate change third parties, legal third parties. Shared for cross-context behavioral advertising with: third-party advertising platforms.

Geolocation data. Examples: general physical location such as city derived from IP address. Disclosed to: service providers, corporate change third parties, legal third parties. Shared for cross-context behavioral advertising with: third-party advertising platforms.

Audio, electronic, visual, or similar information. Examples: call recordings where you contact us by telephone and are given notice. Disclosed to: service providers, corporate change third parties, legal third parties.

Sensitive personal information. We do not collect sensitive personal information for non-GLBA purposes through the website. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would require offering a right to limit its use.

Inferences. Examples: a profile reflecting preferences and characteristics based on your interactions with the Platform. Disclosed to: service providers. Shared for cross-context behavioral advertising with: third-party advertising platforms.

We do not "sell" your personal information in exchange for monetary payment. We may "share" personal information with third-party advertising partners for cross-context behavioral advertising, and you have the right to opt out. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under sixteen years of age.

Disclosure to service providers

When we disclose personal information for a business purpose, we enter into a contract that describes the purpose and requires the recipient to keep that information confidential and not to use it for any purpose except performing services for us.

Your rights and choices

Access and data portability

You have the right to request that we disclose certain information to you about our collection and use of your non-GLBA personal information over the past twelve months, including the categories collected, the sources, our business purpose, the categories of third parties with whom we share it, and the specific pieces of personal information we collected.

Deletion

You have the right to request that we delete your non-GLBA personal information, subject to certain exceptions. Once we receive and verify your request, we will delete it and direct our service providers to do the same, unless an exception applies.

Correction

You may request that we correct inaccurate non-GLBA information we maintain about you.

Right to opt out of sale or sharing

You have the right to direct us not to "sell" or "share" your personal information. We do not sell for monetary consideration. We do share personal information with third-party advertising partners for cross-context behavioral advertising. To opt out you can use the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in the footer of our website, adjust your cookie preferences, or enable an opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control in your browser, which we process as a valid request for that browser or device.

Right to limit use of sensitive personal information

We do not collect or use sensitive personal information for non-GLBA purposes in a manner that would trigger this right. If we do, we will provide notice and a right to limit its use.

Exercising your rights

Only you, or a person you authorize to act on your behalf, may make a verifiable consumer request. You may also make one on behalf of your minor child. Where an authorized agent submits a request, we may require written permission from you and may require you to verify your identity directly with us, unless you have provided the agent with a valid power of attorney.

To exercise your access, portability, correction, or deletion rights, email privacy@policyquail.com. Your request must provide sufficient information for us to reasonably verify that you are the person about whom we collected personal information, and must describe your request in sufficient detail for us to evaluate and respond to it.

We cannot respond to your request or provide you with personal information if we cannot verify your identity or authority and confirm that the information relates to you. Making a request does not require you to create an account. We will only use information provided in a request to verify the requester's identity or authority.

Response timing and format

We will confirm receipt of your request within ten business days. We will respond within forty-five calendar days of receipt, unless we require more time, up to ninety days in total, in which case we will notify you of the reason and the extension in writing.

We do not charge a fee to process or respond to a verifiable consumer request unless it is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded. If we determine a fee is warranted, we will explain why and provide a cost estimate before completing the request.

Limiting or declining requests

We may decline to honour your request, in whole or in part, where the information is subject to laws outside the scope of CCPA and CPRA rights such as GLBA; where we cannot identify you within our systems; where we cannot confirm the information relates to you; where we cannot verify your identity or authority; where we are required to retain the information under record retention or other legal obligations; where disclosure would adversely affect the rights and freedoms of another consumer; or where providing the information would be impossible or involve disproportionate effort.

Non-discrimination

We will not discriminate against you in a manner prohibited by California law because you exercise your rights. Please note that using our Services requires collecting your personal information, and deletion may affect our ability to provide those Services.

California Shine the Light

We do not share personal information as defined by California Civil Code § 1798.83 with third parties for their direct marketing purposes without your consent.
